Brewed in collaboration with Cromarty Brewery.
Inspired by our favourite Scottish dessert we brewed this decadent Scotch Ale with raspberries, toasted oatmeal, honey and cream then aged it for two years in highland whisky barrels.

Bottle from the Brewdog online shop. Pours murky brown with a short-lived off-white head. Raspberry, whisky and honey aromas. Quite sweet on the taste. A little thin.

Was ist denn hier passiert? 8/5/7/5/9

330 ml bottle. Pours a muddy red brown with moderate foamy head. Aromas of old woody whiskey, brown sugar, and mashed raspberries. Flavors of raspberry syrup and caramel; light oaky whiskey and soft sugary malts (honey?) Almost jammy. Warm. Very unique and interesting.

Bottle. Little Leeds Beer House. Murky, plum red. Very sticky, lasting, lacing, leggy, pale beige head. Nose has raspberry mousse. Raspberry truffle. Cream. (How does that work in a BA beer?). Whisky liqueur. Some woody notes. Touch of booze. Taste has sticky, raspberry sweetness. A bit dry. Some boozy bitterness. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Very drinkable at the hefty ABV. Fruit and booze to finish. Awesome. Awesome price tag, too. Never had a problem understanding the time and effort that goes into a beer like this, but Buxton definitely err toward the top end of pricing, when not every one of their beers warrant it. This could be an exception.

Bottle. Nose is whiskey, vanilla, slight vegetables, raspberry, fruit, malt. Taste is sharp fruit, leading to vanilla and cream, whiskey, smoke, slight tartness, bread, malt, Greek honey, cream, tart berry almost sour, raspberry, vanilla, cherry. Toffee and caramel come out is it warms faint hint of smoke. Cream and honey become significantly more pronounced as the beer breaths. Sticky mouthfeel. I've never had the dessert so can make not reference to the source material, but it's a truly unique beer. As will all Buxton BA beers it compliments rather than drowning the source beer. I liked trying it, there is depth and complexity but I don't enjoy enough relative to the price to have a second time.
