44cl Blik van Sterk. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Gebrande mout, donker fruit, drop, chocolade, koffie, zit prima in elkaar maar is wel erg zacht en weinig uitgesproken om echt een knaller te zijn. Medium body.

Imperial stout brewed by Whiplash in Ireland in collaboration with Pühaste from Estonia, known for its potent beers; can shared at De Welkom, cheers Joeri. Pale beige, moussey but quickly opening, slowly diminishing head over a pitch black beer. Aroma of pecan nut pie, chocolate cake, walnut liqueur, vanilla, toffee, dry caramel, cappuccino, toasted hazelnuts, some milk chocolate. Densely sweet, ‘candied’ and concentrated onset, hints of raisin, blackberry coulis and candied date, softly carbonated with very thick, oily, smooth body; lovely toffeeish, caramelly and dark-chocolatey malts filling the mouth cavity with side notes of hazelnut and cappuccino. Light roasty coffee-like bitterness ensues, along with warming brandy-ish alcohol, but the ‘dark sweetness’ of liquid ‘fondant’ chocolate remains dominant. Typical sweet postmodernism in strong stouts but very well-bodied, well-structured and well-made.
