Bottle. Black colour with a white head with medium duration and moderate lacing. Aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malts and light burnt sugar. Flavor has notes of mokka, black chocolate, red furits and mild bitterness. The final is light bittery with slightly sweet notes very good compensated.

Opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. The dark malt is thin but robust with roast and a trace of coffee. Decent piney hops provide some balance, but this is a malt led Black IPA. Dry finish with more roast bitterness.

Bottle, Chester Beer & Wine. Dark brown pour with a meek tan head. Sweetish nose of choc, malts and piney hop. Flavour had notes of dark fruit, more chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and citrus hop. Dried out towards the finish. A tasty tidy stab at the style.

Bottle picked up at ’Jacks’, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon. Consumed at a wonderful house in Appleton, Oxon, Saturday 31st August 2013 Pours black, maybe a little dark chestnut on closer inspection, large sticky frothy head. Taste was a little underwhelming, lacked the oomphh... one might expect for a beer of 6%+ there would be to this, however it rarely excited me. Yes it was a little roasty, bitter and there were hops and coffee flavours, but it felt thin, a little watery and frankly a bit dissapointing. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Aroma: Grapefruit, Refresher sweets, leather, vanilla and chocolate malt.
Appearance: Dark brown body with ruby highlights. Thin beige head that holds reasonably well. Lots of sticky lacing.
Taste: Tangy raisins and prunes up front with a strong, bitter finish. Hints of coffee, grapefruit and pine.
Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation fizz.
Overall: A robust, flavoursome Black IPA - lovely stuff.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Dark, ruddy brown with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of milk chocolate, bready malts and a touch of grassy hop. Flavour was bigger, with some citrus fruit, more chocolate, pine resin and solid, doughy malts, before a prickly, dryish finish, which left a hoppy after taste. Good beer.
