Bottle from kvickly. spinderiet bbf 27-10-2021 close to pitch dark, small yellow head. nice roasted malty as well as bitter aromatic hoppy aroma, good balance. flavor is bitter hops, roasted malts, flowery sweetness in the aftertaste. A very dry black ipa, and that suits it well. Also fainter notes of english licorice and finnish style salmiak licorice. the only thing i dislike a bit is a herbal bitter note somewhere in between the hops and the malts. sort of like burnt plastic. it is quite faint, and could easily be from perhaps some smoked malts being in there, perhaps it's just so subtle that it makes you think burnt plastic instead of tar and charred wood. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours clear deep brown with huge foamy head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, syrup, brown sugar, grapefruit and spruce. Taste is medium to very sweet, medium bitter and faint to light salty. Body is oily with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter with notes of spruce, resin, bitter red grapefruit, ground coffee, cocoa and hints of vanilla and anise.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark nut brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of hops and touches of nuts and citrus. Bitter flavour of hops and roasted malt, with grassy and estery notes and mild fruity touches. Roasty and hoppy aftertaste with estery and grassy hints. Well-balanced, with lungering bitterness and a complex flvour and aroma. Decent.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with a reddish hue and a thick and steady both creamy and lacing beige head. Sweet, roasty nose - but no real hoppiness. Medium body, a somewhat harsh roastiness, ashes and tobacco with a bitter finish. Completely lacking the aroma hops aspect which is the defining point of a Black IPA. This is just a somewhat bitter Stout really. 120320
