Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is full-on barrel, vanilinne, structured for support by a thick base though. Taste is sharp, loads of barrels and vaniline. Fairly complex. perhaps a bit to the tin side, which I didn't expect from the scent. Nice barrel profile, but too little balance and the base is a bit lost after all ( in the taste ) .

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of caramel, coconut, chocolate, roasted malt, nuts and whiskey. Pours almost black color with thin quickly diminishing light brown head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts mild sweet roasted and grainy with whiskey note, follows by licorice, chocolate and caramel, mouthfeel is warm and spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Nice one and not overly sweet...

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rye notes are pretty strong with some dry bitter roasted malt notes and light black chocolate notes. Taste is also a mix of strong rye notes with some woody notes with some bitter chocolate notes and dry bitter roasted malt with limited residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation with some warming alcohol notes easily detectable. Dryer then expected with more alcohol coming through then expected but still enjoyable.

Import bottle. Thanks to Phil. Aroma of whiskey quite dominant followed by notes of vanilla, molasses, chocolate and light prunes. Light meat notes also perceived. Dark brown liquid with red highlights, translucent, covering itself with a rather small mocha-colored foam that holds moderately. A warm and chocolatey mouth starter with accents of nougat, very pronounced vanilla, blackcurrant, with a slight touch of black fruit. Alcohol is well dosed and warmed. The roasting elements are quite low and give way to well-established esters. The bitterness is close to none and lead way to a finish where sugar and alcohol drag on. The range of flavors is complex and elaborate and mainly consists of fruity esters and malt sugars with a whiskey base. Medium body and gentle carbonation. This porter is still delicious despite the great weakness of the roasting elements.

330ml bottle, vintage 2019, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Almost black body appearance, shiny naked surface, poor lacing. Inviting smell of smooth chocolate malts, scent of dark fruits as well. Fine taste character of liquorice, chocolate and dark bread. Woody. Smooth slightly roasted malts to the finish. Fine bodied. Likable sipper on a Friday eve. (Tromsø 25.09.2020).
