It’s been said that Pilsners represent the high art of brewing. Named for the region of the Czech Republic known as Pilsen, this style of beer is considered both challenging to brew by brewmasters across the world and an easy-to-drink beer that delights beer drinkers everywhere.
Flavor
The Alaskan Pilsner, golden straw in color with a fluffy white head, is extremely clean and crisp – highlighting a slight malty sweetness that finishes with a moderate bitterness that won’t linger longer than the ‘aaah’ that will escape your lips. That subtle sweetness and balance ensures each sip is better than the previous, making it easy to go back for more.

355ml can. Opalescent, orange golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, pale malty and slightly herbal-grassy, hoppy aroma, Taste is crisp, bitter, herbal-grassy and minimally citrusy fruity hoppy, mildly spicy, pale malty basis with subtle residual sweetness, hints of sorrel, a touch of green lemon.
Good body, oily texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Clean and crisp, refreshing, drinkable - very nice.

Can on the Crown Princess. Pours gold with a large lacing white head. Bready yeasty aroma. Med body. Fairly dry and lightly bitter. Bready/yeasty/wheaty. A bit unusual.

Can thanks to Mom & Dad. Pale gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of pears, spice, straw. Takes a different drift than the typical German pils. Taste is bitter, although only mildly so. Finish is shortish, but crisp, clean. Not bad.

Draft at the brewery in Juneau, Alaska. Crystal clear light yellow color with a small white head. No aroma, all I smell is the brewery itself. Good lacing. Light and easy drinking. Not very hoppy. This could easily pass for a light lager. Smooth, crisp, and clean. Very easy drinking. Good flavor for a light beer.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is a nice pils malt. Flavor is more nice pils malt with a grainy sweet finish. It's OK, a little on the sweeter side.

12oz can. Pretty enjoyable. More bready and dry than spicy or zesty. Easy drinking, some pleasant lager tone. Not really true in a traditional sense, but still good.

12 oz from a six pack. Aroma is grassy, grainy, doughy. Pours clear golden with a large off white head with excellent retention. Taste has a bready malt sweetness backed by moderate herbal hop bitterness; has an unfortunate metallic off-note that doesn’t distract too much, but definitely lowers the score.
