Dark amber with off white head - Malt and some fruity notes in the aroma - Malt body with some dark fruity flavours and just some hints of bitterness - Malt and dark fruity flavours goes into the finish with some gentle warming alcohol - This was real good

Bottle @ home. Almost clear reddish amber body under a nice tan head. Arom has malt and dry fruit. Taste is sweet malt, dry fruit, toffee and moderate bitterness. Alcohol is impressive camouflaged. Balanced body with a nice, long lasting aftertaste. A nice, rather straight forward big barleywine without anything extraordinary, just damn well made.

YG 190324. Dark red brown color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, bread, alcohol, toffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, toffee, alcohol, bread, chocolate, caramel. Very nice beer.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Durable beige head over a next-to-clear orange-reddish body. Attractive on the nose with dark and dried fruits, scents of herbs as well. Balanced taste character of figs, prunes, herbal hops, and earthy malts. Slightly port-like. Long-lived, warming finish. Full bodied. Nice slow sipper qualities. (Tromsø, 28.03.2024).

Drukket på Bergstua. Mørk amber. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Blir raskt film. Aroma av kandisukker & malt. Smaken svisker& tørket frukt. Tørr, lett bitter avslutning. Alkoholen merkes så vidt. Koseøl. Uklar siste kvelling.

Bottle, 33cl. A deep chestnut colored beer, unclear, with a small dark beige head that lasts. The aroma has lots of dark dried fruit, prune, raisin and fig, with a touch of bread, a good dash of toffee, some chocolate and a decent amount of alcohol. There's a faint chemical, alcoholic hint in the aroma at first, but that soon disappears. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, sweet but not too sweet, and there's enough bitterness to deal with it. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, less that chemical touch, and with some coffee hints instead. Mostly focused on toffee and dark dried fruit, with caramel, chocolate, some grassy, piney notes and a good dash of alcohol. Lightly spiced. Rather vinous, but in an extreme way, due to the notes of coffee, chocolate and the hops. A delicious beer indeed. Sure will get more of this. And hopefully it will be relaunched in 75cl bottles, and maybe put on some quality oak as well. I'd sure love that. 240319

Jeg digger Kinn sine solide mursteiner, og når innholdet er som dette kan man bli direkte salig. Åpning nesten uten futt, brun kastanjefarge og så å si uten skum. Vinøs utskjenking og munnfølelse, fin duft og velgjørende smak av portvin/sherry, svisker, sviskeplommer, hint av melkesjokolader, og kanskje jeg fornemmer et snev av bourbon? Laang ettersmak, en øl man kan overvintre med. Denne va' jysla go'e sa madammen. Et solid koordinat å navigere etter, hvis man skal holde seg til ekspedisjonsterminologien.
