Tap@Fermentoren - fuzzy brown/amber pour, medium off-white head. Sweet malts, caramel, toffee, some dark fruits, has some good spiciness to it. Great.

At SBWF 2013. Hazy reddish/brown with a medium foam. Aroma and taste of toffee, spices, some wood, yeast, dried fruit and light berries. Warming alcohol in the finish. I guess that this one could work well after the Christmas dinner.

Draught@CPH BF 2013. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is rye bread, some fruity and toffeeish notes, wood and also grains and alcohol. Flavour is spruce, fruits, caramel, toffee and some sweet notes along with it. Very balanced and drinkable for being a big beer.

500 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 10.5%, Hazy dark brown colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Interesting aroma of fir needles, berries, Christmas spices and oak. The flavour is sweet and oaky, and I can’t deny that the alcohol is noticeable. Moderate notes of fir or pine needles, also dark dried fruits, mild spices and brown kandij sugar. Warming mouthfeel. Lovely stuff, really, but it is perfectly all right to share the bottle.

On tap at Henrik, Bergen. Pours a slightly hazy brown colour with a small light beige head. The aroma is sweet and fruity with dark berries, winegums, caramel and dried fruit. Well-balanced flavour of sweet and caramel malt, dried fruit, some alcohol, cinnamon and anis. Rich and sticky mouthfeel, and has a light bitterness. A wonderful and balanced beer that would be a great one to have in your beer cellar.

0.5l bottle from #201. It pours a deep dark plum-red/brown almost murky body with a quickly fading and sidesticking off-white head. Smells really lovely. Dried figs, caramel, chocolate paper, dark malts, a herbal tone as well and something reminding me of lavender and sweet ripe fruit. Quite elegant and definitely worthy such a honorable name as the almighty and generous Secret Santa. Yupp, it's quite far out there on the sticky sweet side on the flavor, but never cloying or anything like that. Lots of raisins, oxidization, figs and sweet dates in the taste! Yeah, this is just how I like em'. Candy sweetness, some fennel seed like spiciness and a little subtle alcohol well integrated in all the other flavors. Really tasty, and as mentioned before a well worthy ale bearing the Secret Santa name. 31.08.2012

Bottle. It pours a more or less clear body, brown in color, and topped by a small, beige head. The aroma is quite spiced, with caramel, dried fruits and a touch of roasted malts. Spiced flavor too, with caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits and some cocoa it seems. Full-bodied, lighlty warming and pleasantly carbonated. Bitter, warming and lighlty sweet and spiced finish. A fine beer, but a bit spiced and warming maybe. 120302
