Keg at Fuggles. I can't even begin to describe the nose, but it is stunning in the glass. Absolutely insane flavour mix, sweet, bitter and bonfire. I actually had a Proustian moment and it took me back to Autumn bonfires in the garden of my childhood home in the Cotswolds. Weird. And a perfectly balanced taste of my favourite Islay whisky. This is so good. Yes, it's only my second ever 5.

0.33 l can from 'Rebelbeercans', best before December 2028. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently smoky-medicinal, quite fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, peat, apple and fruity whisky. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, gently smoky-medicinal and rather fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, roasted hazelnut, ash, peat, fruity whisky and apple, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, gently boozy finish. Almost full-bodied, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. I get apple flavours as well but they fit well into the beer, not disturbing at all, tastes like it derives from the Laphroaig.

Black with thin head. Aroma of raw alcohol and wood. Too much wood in the taste too. Aftertaste is wonderful as the notes of chocolate and peat and leather come through. Maybe too long on the barrel.
