Hazy pale brown, thin head. Sort of boozy, yeasty aroma. Soft body, boozy fruity, vinous accent late. Base beer comes across as simple, however.

330 ml can. Pours a dark reddish mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of Christmas cake fruit, sweet white wine, a little oak and bready malts. Flavors of sweet dark fruit, earthy dark berries, oaky white wine leaning toward Sauternes, and nice bready malts. Excellent .

330mL can, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma is full of intense white wine barrels, some red fruits, and toffee. Flavour is likewise loaded with fine white wine barrel presence, some toffee, toasted bready caramel, and a hint of vinous tartness on the finish. I wouldn't think this would work, but I dig it. Very nice barrel character.

Can, courtesy of Ryan
Opaque brown colour. The aroma is vinous. Sweet, but not too thick; there'e enough malt flavour, alcohol, and pleasant vinous character. The beer and wine barrel characters are well integrated.

330ml on Alex's porch shared with Ryan. Appearance: copper with a beige head. Aroma: sweet grapes, some oak. Some kinda red apples, so reminded me ice ciders. Taste: very barrel forward, lots of sweet grapes, super fruity. Overall: nice one.

Poured from 330mL can (2022 vintage). Hazy brown with small beige head. Aroma has some ice cider notes. Some dark fruits and white wine vinous notes, some competing flavours, but as it warms up enjoying it more; on par with the white wine & Jim Beam variant.

Hazy dark amber colour, white creamy foam. Complex nose of dried fruit, plums, raisins along with sweet white wine, light tart. Very well balanced. Great one from Kees.

0.33 l can from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before February 2026. Hazy, ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, vinous-fruity and slightly boozy aroma of dessert wine, molasses, raisins, plum and white grapes. Very sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fairly vinous-fruity taste of molasses, dessert wine, raisins, vanilla, plum and white grapes, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely Barley Wine, fantastic Sauternes flavours, very rich and saturating. Really tasty!
