Bottle. Nose is tropical, honey, herbal, hints of spruce. Taste is blossom, orange, papaya, honey, tangerine, lightly spice and hints of resin. Some malt in the backend giving a hint of toffee. Further sips give lime, hints of fresh basil and mint notes. The mouthfeel is like velvet. This is a very nice, complex, DIPA, but it’s not as good as my memory of the 2014 (though who knows, really...) and looking at my notes, it was the variations from a usual DIPA template that I liked so much last year. Perhaps this is a more balanced beer.

Bottle at home, 30/11/15. Clear golden amber with a very well appointed beige covering that dissipates then retains well. Nose is juicy hop, pine resin, grapefruit, caramelised brown sugars, bitter orange, grapefruit, malt tones. Taste comprises orange pith, mango pulp, light spice, pine needle, caramel malt, sweet and soured tropicana. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with semi aggressice hop bitterness. Solid DIPA, well joined up, sweet in places but very drinkable.

330ml bottle, many thanks to Chris G for picking this up. Drunk 3 days after bottling. Lovely fresh hoppy aroma that i couldn’t stop sniffing. First sip bears an almost minty cool freshness. Lime, basil and over-ripe papaya in the taste. Perhaps preferable to last year’s 13.6%, purely due to drinkability. Exceedingly nice.

fat omnipollos keps. Smaken samma rakt igenom. Inga konstigheter förutom alla bubblorna.

Keg at Buxton Tap, Buxton, Wednesday 11th November 2015. Thick in the mouth, I should loved to have tried this alongside the old 13.6% version because this is still an absolute beast of a beer, instead we are drinking it alongside a an Axe Edge which for me wins out as it is such a lovely beer. Silky, a little syrupy, huge hoppiness, it’s got a big hoppy bite, loads of hoppy burps, this is also very sweet. Dark gold (but subdued lighting so can’t be 100%). Very nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
