Having been aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels, cacao was then added to create a decadent and delightful Stout. This is a beautifully silky beer that has notes of Morello cherries, vanilla, oak and chocolate.

Appearance is midnight black, with no head. A small tan fizzy circle. Aroma is lots of bourbon, oaky barrel, vanilla, coffee, dark rum, cherry and raisin, tannins, red wine, fruitcake, Christmas pudding, earthy malt. Taste is chocolate, lots of cherry, earthy dark malt, treacle, burnt dark fruits, overdone fruitcake, sugary raisin, espresso, liqueur chocolate, fudgy malt, rum and raisin ice cream, oaky whisky, whisky chocolate fudge. Smooth, rich and well-balanced. Loads going on, excellent.

Bottle. CW online I think. Slick pour. Sits thick and black. Plenty leggy. Slim ring of tan. Rich chocolate truffle. Bit of booze. Sweet and slick. Understated BA character, which is my bag. Rich chocolate finish. Good gear.
A deep dark stout with no head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light mineral notes, alcohol warmth, nutty notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich.

Dark black pour with a small tan head; first aroma I got was black forrest cake - chocolate, dark cherries, cream/milk with a boozy note, some oak and malts as well. Tastes is similar with more cocoa and a slightly bitter finish. Decent, but definitely to be sipped and savoured.

Half-pint on tap at Cloudwater Taproom in London, shared with BeerViking and Finn. A deep black body, patchy surface, fragile lacing. Inviting smell of creamy chocolate, lightly roasted. Chocolate fudge to the taste character, molasses beneath. Woody. Long-lived, slightly roasted, dark chocolate malty ending with warmth from the alcohol. Well bodied. Rather heavy to drink, sipper qualities though. (Bermondsey, London 12.02.2023).

Bottle at home, from CW online, 29/12/22. Pitch black with a good sized tan covering that settles as a swirl. Nose is decadent chocolate, bourbon barrel, dried cherry skins, molasses, toffee fudge, hint of coffee bean. Taste comprises chocolate pot, light honeycomb, toasted brown sugars, mellow roast, bourbon soaked oak, light spice, dash of booze, dried red berry esters. Full bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of warming alcohol. Solid BA impy, best of this years Xmas crop so far, 4 of 6 done IIRC.
