This dangerously drinkable Vietnamese coffee stout starts with an assertive roasty bitterness from the dark malts which quickly gives way to a smooth rich dark chocolate and hazelnut finish.

440ml can. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast malts, dark chocolate. Taste is dominated by the coffee and roast malts, dark chocolate and caramel base, slight nuttiness, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Love the coffee in this.

Keg draught at RedWillow Buxton. Dark brown and insatiable opaque with a ring of khaki head. Coffee understandably dominates the aroma, with notes of praline and salted caramel. Taste is sweet but measured, with hints of hazelnut and Marmite backing up the coffee flavour. Finish isn't exactly dry but it's not laced with sugar. Pretty well attenuated for the style. Medium body, maybe even on the lighter side, with heavy carbonation. Incredible stuff.

440 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of dry dark chocolate, black coffee, a bit of wood, and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with more woodiness (or possibly the hazelnuts mentioned in the description). Very nice.

Can from The Beerhive. Black body with a thin tan head. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee and hazelnut. Flavour of roasted malt and espresso with a dry, ashy finish. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Roasted and rich with a big coffee hit.

Black beer, tan head, dry coffee aroma. Flavour is up front with the coffee too, plus toasty malt, some dark chocolate and a decent creamy finish. Super drinkable.

Cask at Alfred, Upper Hale. Aroma combines coffee, praline and porridge. Dark cola. Glossy. Thin creamy beige head. Coffee bitterness with an associated berry sourness. A malty oaty element then appears. Medium-heavy bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Nice enough without blowing me away. A tad muted.
