Bottle. Sampled from bottle at the brewery in 2015, notes where originally not posted at RB as I wanted to wait for a later rating at home. Then rating where forgotten to be made, so this is the original rating made from a small sample. Dark brown body with a small tan head. Strong aroma of dark malt, smoked whisky, oak and vinous alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, dark malt, some smoke, oak, vanilla, whisky, dry fruit and warming alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Solid, tasty and complex cask version of the classic Christmas beer from Nøgne Ø.

Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and airy, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts bring a light tang. Mild spice. Light whiskey into dried fruits. Whisper of mint. Smooth finish. Pretty drinkable.

29/VII/16 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: 23/VII/20, brewed: 23/VII/12 (2016-800) Thanks to CH-303 for the trade!
Clear deep brown beer, big aery irregular beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: wow, so deep and complex! There's definitely the whisky, caramel, dried fruits, alcohol, milk chocolate, some vanilla, crème brulée. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: surprisingly sourish start, alcohol, whisky, sweet malts, caramel, some chocolate, soft roast. Aftertaste: bitter hops, dried fruits, coffee and mocha, caramel, ripe banana, fudge, dark chocolate, more hops, whisky touch. What a nice after dinner beer!

Harmonische Mischung von Malz mit süßen Whiskynoten. Etwas trocken im Mittelteil, erstaunlich, wie nebensächlich der Alkoholgehalt rüberkommt. Vollmundig, dabei spritzig mit langem Nachhall. 11/11/11/12/13/11

Medium brown head. Opaque black body. Alcoholic spicy chocolatey aroma with earthy menthol notes. Sweetish alcoholic toffee and chocolate taste with earthy spicy notes. Fullish body. Hot, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy chocolatey cherry aftertaste with menthol and alcohol notes. Interesting, but too strong to really be worth drinking. (0.33l bottle from wine monopoly, Strømmen. Batch #857.)

Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, whisky and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, whisky, dried fruity and caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. The whisky is still very dominant and they could easily have blended it with more non barrel aged god jul.
