And here is our second attempt at an ultra-light beer, the PETIT BOULBA! The story behind the name is amusing: Brewing in our very first brewery in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw was entirely manual and really exhausting. For lunch, we dreamed of a light and flavorful table beer to quench our thirst... One day, Bernard had the idea to mix a Taras Boulba with an equal amount of sparkling water to make a "small beer". A super refreshing beer that wouldn’t prevent us from getting back to work in full shape! And we decided to call it the "Petit Boulba"...
We reused the name as a reminder of the early days, but of course we made the beer according to a specific recipe. Petit Boulba is a blond beer with only 2.8% alcohol, with a blonde and cloudy appearance due to the use of wheat and oats. Its aroma is very floral, with notes of fresh cereals. On the palate, these aromas develop further and blend with notes of white fruits and fine herbal touches. Petit Boulba is slightly bitter and has a very dry and super refreshing finish

Very stable, thick snowwhite head over veiled, greenish yellow beer. Herbal, herbs, grains, young leaves. Bitterish herbal, bit citrussy, citruspeel, with hints at light acidity. Light, but feeling absolutely nowhere empty, nor tastewise. Mild carbonation, refreshing. Amazing session IPA. Or table beer, if you prefer old belgianisms! Txs to Stef!

33cl Fles van Etre Gourmet. Mistig lichtgele kleur, hagelwitte kraag.

Gott

It’s nice, but you can really taste, or should that say not tatste the strength. It’s fine and quite nice, but lacking something. But maybe that’s just how I’m feeling right now.

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 20 Oct 2024) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grass and grain. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, grass, grain and a generous citric/herbal bitterness. Light body, dry. On the thin side, but refreshing, with a generous hop presence. Nice one.

33 cl draft at Brasserie de la Senne in Brussels, Belgium. The pour is a hazed white yellow with a foamy lasting one inch head with pretty lace. The aroma is soft delicate grain, floral, straw and a hint of herbal. The taste is very much a lighter version of Taras Boulba with great flavor integration, of the malt grain and the floral hop notes. Earth and mineral carry the finish. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation and remarkably great body despite the low abv. This is expertly made and delicious.
