Creamy off white head on a copper coloured body.
Malt & toffee aroma.
Toffee, malt, raisin & berry tastes with a thin fruity finish.
Nice enough

500ml bottle, gift from a friend, BB Oct 21. Pours a see through coca cola look with next to no head. Aromas & tastes of dried fruits, burnt ash & malt. Moderate body. Sweet finish. Very poor effort I'm afraid to say, hard to finish & I've a second bottle to get through at some point.

Deep brown with a tinge of red, creamy looking tan head and fruit malt on the nose. Smooth and semi-creamy, tastes a little like Christmas cake mix with some earthy hop character and a dry, very slightly bitter finish

Cask up the White Lady. Pours clear amber with a tight beige head. Aromas of light toffee and red fruit. Taste is more of the same. A bitter orange note on the end.

Half-Pint, cask ale at Flying Horse (JDW). Stable beige head over a deep mahogany coloured body, scattered lacing. Moderate aromas of earthy malts and dried fruits. Balanced taste character with caramel malts, hazelnuts, and a bite of stewed fruits. Mid-sweet malt-driven end, slightly roasted. Okay Yuletide feel. (Gatwick, 10.12.2023).

Cask handpull at Humphrey Bean JDW Tonbridge. Clear cola colour lasting beige head. Not as malty as I was expecting from the colour. Some sweetness. Not much hop. No real bitterness. Not fully attenuated. Sweetish finish. OK. Mediocre

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours dark ruby with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of malts and autumn fruits. In the mouth it is fairly sweet and quite juicy with prominent flavours of dark fruits and apples and a trace of malts. Later on there are hints of toffee and butterscotch. Finish is quite fruity. This is reasonable enough.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A chestnut pour with a ring of white head; malty aroma; earthy malt body; and a dry finish with caramel and nuts. A nicely heavy winter pint.
