Have you tried a Grodziskie yet? This historical beer hails from Poland and is now enjoying a rise from the ashes with a newfound interest from craft beer drinkers. Our “Grodz” Feniks earned a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival for historical beer. This 3.2% abv wheat beer is brewed with pale malt and smoked wheat. For a touch of balance, we leaned on the one and only Saaz hop for a spicy noble character. Feniks is carbonated to volumes unknown for a spritzy bite to live up to its nickname, Polish Champagne.

A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head.
A- Smoke, light wood, faintly grassy, damp.
F- Straw, faint smoke, very faint citrus, sweet malt.
T- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Really nice. I love a good Grod and this is one. I could crush several of these and it really is an underrepresented style. Light, refreshing, balanced smoke, malt, and grains with an underlying citrus. Loved it.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Pale gold pour. Frothy white head is substantial. Aroma is pale malt with a hint of smoke. Flavor is light biscuity malt and spicy hops. Mild smoky notes, as well. Light and refreshing.

Can. Pour clear yellow, large white head, good lacing. Aroma is light hardwood smoke, hints of sour mash. Flavor is light sweet, light smoke, light plus bitter. hint of tartness. Light body. Good effort.

Taster flight at Great Notion Alberta. Pale yellow pour with a fine bubbly head. Aroma is lightly smokey, sweet. Taste is smoke upi front, light sweet malts filling in behind. Really light on the palate and a gateway beer for the smoked styles.

Pale gold and oh my god that is a fucking glorious oak smoke aroma. Like eating elevenses in the shire under the rowan tree. Light body, dry, seems thin. Some pale malts come through. But it doesn'�t fully come together.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear, light, bright gold with a large foamy white head that laced down a little. Rauch aroma. Not quite med body. Flavor is rauch and some grass/spice. Overall it suggests something like smoky citrus. Wheat has to be sought for. Very refreshing.

On tap at Great Notion - Ballard, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals gentle smoke and soft wheaty notes. Flavour is dry and smoky, with gentle smoke and dry wheatiness. Even for the style, there's not much depth here. Bone dry and lacking smoky depth. Meh.

On tap at the brewery. Pours mostly clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a nice amount of smoke. Taste is lightly sweet and fairly smoky. Fairly thin mouthfeel. Nice.
