Picked up this can quite a while ago. A fun beer for sure, I don’t know why I never found myself in the mood for a beer like the entire time I had this stashed. A bright, reddish orange pour with a thin film head. A soft and inviting coffee forward aroma. Just barely sweet coffee and cream flavor here, with a little bit of a toasty background. I like that the coffee in this isn’t overpowering, or bitter. It’s got a good amount going on. Much more mild than the abv bill suggests too. Quite impressed with this one. Very enjoyable.

Very hazy glowing light amber and copper coloured body with a small, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pure coffee shells (cascara coffee ’tea’) with some dry earth, mushrooms, malt, funk, grass (green coffee) and more of the coffee fruit (not even brewed or even roasted coffee) noticeable - funky. Medium-bodied; Strong coffee flavour from the coffee tea or the coffee fruit with some noticeable dry earth and grain throughout and a hint of alcohol, coupled with some light caramelised sugars and a bit of grass. Aftertaste is quite bittered from the coffee fruits and the earthiness throughout with a little extra alcohol pungency around. Overall, a decent and interesting blend of coffee and beer with nice notes if you know where this comes from and the nuances throughout when roasting coffee. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Kahalui, Maui, Hawaii on 03-January-2016 for US$2,69 sampled at home in Washington on 04-September-2016 celebrating a nice summer in 2016 after returning to Hawaii this summer as well.
