A classic example of a beer mild in hops but not in flavour. Sweetness balanced by bitter chocolate malt to produce a rare but much sought after traditional mild.
Note: Has been brewed at various strengths between 3.6% and 4.7%

Cask at The Jerusalem Tavern. Blackish color with garnet hilites. Something of a dark fruit aroma. Flavor is mildly sweet, mildly dark fruit. Seems complex. Finishes lightly dry and bitter - with fruit sustained. I really like it.

500ml bottle from Majestic. Reddish brown with a dense light tan head; aroma of caramel and roast nuts; smooth and full in the mouth with a fruity chocolate bitterness leading to a dry chocolately finish. A really intense beer despite the low ABV - an excellent mild.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Dark ruby. Honey sweet and roasty. Fairly light bodied, somewhat soapy. Lies slightly bold and coarse in the mouth. More like a punctured ESB than a mild,

Half on cask. Almost black with a rusty tint to it. No head. Dark fruity aroma. Pleasant malty flavour with chocolate notes. Medium to full bodied. One of the better Milds I have had (in perfect condition at Jerusalem Tavern, 18.09.2006).

(Cask at Jerusalem Tavern, Clerkenwell, London 20 Apr 2006) Colour is dark brown with ruby hints, foamy head. Nose is roasted and fruity with hints of dried figs and dates. Taste is roasted with lots of dried fruit, coffee and a bitter-sweet finish. Surprisingly complex and lots of taste for a mild.
