Norwegian imperial IPA (in the New England idiom), thanks to Hinke for sharing, never heard of this brewery before! Moussey, egg-white, membrane-lacing, stable head on a cloudy to even 'milky' apricot blonde beer with a somewhat salmon-pinkish tinge to it. Intense aroma of green mango, kiwi, apricot jam, meringue, stewed celeriac, honeydew, rosewater, lychee, oatmeal porridge, white rum, 'diesel' dankness. Juicy sweet onset, mango juice, honey pomelo, lychee, medium carbonated (actually quite lively for this style), very slick, rounded body, creamy and full; honeyish sweetness over a doughy, brioche-bready, sandwich-y maltiness, soft and sweet and from beginning to end soaked in tropical, somewhat citric, dank hoppiness, with all the honey pomelo, lychee and honeydew returning. Bitterness remains low as expected, but the sheer overkill in tropical sultriness makes up for a lot - this is NEDIPA at its most decadent, sunny and sensual, even if the brew was made in gloomy (but beautiful) Norway... Warming alcohol was inevitable I guess, but takes on a white rum-like character, which, coincidentally or not, kind of matches the overall tropicality. This kind of 'NEIPAs on speed' will never be my thing entirely and even less so in this boasty, decadent, punch-like form, but I have to admit that this is a powerful and well-crafted example.

Can. An unclear orange colored beer with a yellow hue. Nice finger-thick off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma has a good dash of alcohol, with orange, orange zest and grapefruit. Some pale malts in the back. It's full-bodied, warming and gently carbonated. Some flowery, grassy hints in the flavor, but mostly pine cones . Melon, hints of honey. Lasting finish. A bit too gentle on the carbonation, perhaps on the bitterness too, but overall it's a fine brew. 240421

Shared at Palace Hall, Malmö March 2024 tasting (23/03/2024) - glad we left the strong stuff to the end! Big dense sweet fruity and malty, loads of rich citrus and tropical fruit in play, dense thick malty backbone, warming solid hoppy finish. Great stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pentatope on 27 Mar 2025 at 05:53 - Score: 7. Original review text: Malm March 2024 tasting - glad we left the strong stuff to the end! Just what the doctor ordered.
