Bottle, 75 cl corked. As Nr. 97. (RBNAG 07) It’s always nice to be able to open another bottle of Bøgedal, and this one is no exception, even though it’s not on of their best. It has a beautiful, hazy, golden body, under a dense, off-white head. Aromawise it’s sweetish malty, with a scent of cellar and some weak notes of wet cardboard. Dusty, slightly dry, medium full in the mouth, with caramel-sweetness and some sour notes, leading to a fruity finish. There’s fruits all the way, but quite subdued until the finish. Far from the best Bøgedal beers, but still very drinkable. (071103)

750ml champagne bottle @ RBNAG’07. (Bottled as no. 97) Hazy orange body with a huge, creamy off-white head. Aroma is mild hoppy and fruity. Flavor is refreshing light malty with a little hint of spices and hops. Medium body. Nice and refreshing but definitively not the most interesting brew from this innovative brewery.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad, as Bøgedal No. 97. The ABV was only 5.0% - which means that the two beers cannot possibly be "the same". Indeed there is an error here - the brewery website says No. 97 is an alias of No. 31, not of No. 30! Correction request sent. Labeled "Lys, perle, citronmelisse". Golden colour. Fizzy mouthfeel. Light bodied, with a hint of citrus in aroma and flavour.

Bottle, as Bøgedal 62. Aroma is dominated by diacetyl. Cloudy dark orange colour, no head. Syrupy, sticky, rotten mouthfeel. The flavour is nice, though. Good hoppiness combined with some alcohol bite. And a little sweet spiciness.

(Bottle 75 cl) Nr. 62. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Some caramel in the aroma. Rather full body with loads of caramel and some lightly sweet honey notes. Distinct alcohol in the finish and quite some bitterness. (Bottle 75 cl) As Nr. 30 Unclear amber golden with a tiny head but a huge, yeasty sediment. Malty with a floral touch in the nose. Full-bodied with quite warming alcohol. Sweetish and malty with some fruity notes reminding me of the more rustic Belgian ales. Dry, underlying bitterness creates a neatly balanced brew. [Bøgedal nr. 62] A hazy orange beer with a thin rim of beige head. The aroma is sweet buttery combined with notes of caramel and light malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of both caramel and butter, leading to a dry end with light notes of metal. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky.
Earlier Rating: 12/30/2005 Total Score: 2.9
[Bøgedal nr. 30] An unclear orange beer with a thin beige lazing head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and light notes of coriander - the flavor is quite light with light notes of straw, caramel, oranges, and flowers - but straw being most dominant. A boring beer.
