Bottle, from Hogsback store, at JF’s Calcutta Cup mini tasting - 02/02/13. Hazed crimson with a thin white head that clears to bubbles around the edge. Nose is slightly soured raspberries, light sugar, Ribena, raspberry syrup. Taste is tarte raspberries, some sugars, light mineral tones. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet in the finish. Ok for what it is - bit of a palate cleanser and probably refreshing on a hot summers day/BBQ.

(bottle from Sainsburys, Lee Green) Pours reddish/amber with a white frothy head, mostly lasting. Aroma/taste is of course Raspberry and wheat which at first seems very sweet on the palate but then a sour finish. Medium to light body and Not really my kind of beer but interesting nonetheless.

Bottle, 5%. Unclear deep red/ruby with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, wheat, raspberries and fruit. Flavour is malt, wheat, raspberries, little over carbonated, fruit, little sweet, little bitter, little tart and medium dry.

Pours red tinted amber with a small head.Nose shows soft raspberry, doughy wheat and little else. Not bad though.More tart raspberry as a flavours and some wheat. Pretty plain.Too much carbonation.I suppose this delivers what it promises, raspberry and wheat.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, red coloured hue with a firm mid-sized pink foamy head. Raspberry-fruity aroma with moderately wheaty notes and yeasty spice. Mildly sour and bitter-tart flavour, rather light bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Yeasty, wheaty and present raspberry-fruity taste with a refreshing acidity towards the finish. Nice summer beer. 08.VI.12

Bottle. Pink color with huge light pink head. Strong raspberry aroma. Tart taste with raspberry. Long dry finish. Nice summer drink.

Picked this up at the brewery in Greenwich England. Best by 12/07/2013. Poured into a Hill Farmstead glass at fridge temperature on a warm afternoon in New Hampshire.

A - The beer colour is more akin to ruby red grapefruit juice that’s non-filtered.Hint or orange tone and 1 finger head that quickly subsides to a small film of bubbles.

S - Very weak raspberry scent. It’s hard to notice and a more dominant wheat / grassy scent. It’s very akin to Harpoon’s Raspberry UFO Hefeweizen which is very common here in Vermont.

T - Mmm.Not bad. Up front, it has a sour candy sort of taste with a mild bit of bitterness followed by a raspberry taste that quickly fades. The after taste is very much a wheat beer with an almost champagne taste at the finish.

M - 90% carbonation on the mouth swish. Light body and very lasting fruit taste past the wheat that tastes more like blueberries and raspberries.

O - This isn’t a bad beer. It has a nice sour wild taste with decent berry notes and pretty well balanced with the wheat. It’s not fantastic but it’s fairly drinkable.

330ml bottle. Hazy red to purple colour with huge collapsing macropore white head. Nice raspberry aroma, well balanced tart and sweet notes. Very fresh, dry and sourish taste, no, sour taste, raspberry of course. Resembles Berliner Weisse, therefore a nice summer drink, but sour in a way you can’t avoid to bare in your facial expression.

33cl bottle of Raspberry Wheat at 5.0% ABV from Waitrose, Bracknell. Pours a murky raspberry colour, almost like a fruit smoothie, with a fast fading pink head; grainy aroma with little sign of the fruit; smooth grainy body with the fruit making a brief appearance - very natural tasting though; then a sourish finish from both the fruit and grain, which are well matched. An interesting fruit beer.

Cloudy copper red to rust coloured beer, small light pink head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: home made strawberry jam, yoghurt, some citrus fruits. MF: good carbon, light to medium body. Taste: raspberry yoghurt, lots of sour, raspberries and citrus. Aftertaste: more yoghurt, little bitterness lingering in the end. Not bad at all for a foreign non lambic fruit beer.
