Oregon Trilogy Series Special Release.

This is a classically-styled West Coast Red DIPA. Simcoe, Chinook and Columbus hops combine to deliver a resinous profile with a citrus undertone. The bitterness helps to balance the deep caramel of the malts.

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A hazed reddish amber coloured pour with a sticky beige head. Aroma is singed brown sugars, toasted singed pine, brown sugars, bark , pine, assertive hop bitterness. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded, resinous pine, bark , woody hop, toasted malts, tobacco. Palate is semi sweet, oily, sticky resinous hop, moderate carbonation. Really solid.

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, July 24. Pours a deep reddish amber, good off-white head. Big resinous bitter piney west coast here. Seems a long time since I've had a good piney bitter west coast, and this compliments the style with some excellent amber red ale malt, chewy moments.. very very good indeed.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma combines sweet fruit and berries with grains and caramel. Opaque amber. Thick foamy off-white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resin. Citrus. Caramel sweet edge. Underlying grains that assert themselves into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick verging on creamy. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Easily drinkable Impy Red IPA.

On tap at Elusive Taproom, Finchampstead, Berks. A hazy amber/red coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, caramel, pine taste and aroma. Finishes rather bitter but it's still a highly drinkable red IPA from Elusive.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Elusive online. Pours clear copper with a creamy, off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with rich piney hops, toasted brown bread, a little earth, semi-ripe citrus, berries. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Resinous finish. Delicious.

Panda, thanks to Cloin. A light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, a mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, a light creamy sweetness offset by caramel and dark toffee, almost a coffee vibe developing. Smooth light pine. Decent marmalade. Smooth and semi dry finish. Mild hop spice linger. Nice brew. Kinda wants to be a barleywine when it grows up but it's nice to revisit this style of beer.
