Can from Home Bargains, Salford. Black with a very thin head. Slightly denser tasting than expected for its strength, but this does serve to give the brew its pudding texture and taste with custard coming across through some pleasant vanilla notes.

Can from Home Bargains, Reading. Chestnut coloured with a white head. Lebkuchen up front. Clove and cinnamon with earthy notes. Fruit cake then some nice bitter orange marmalade to finish. Long lasting spicy aftertaste. They've nailed this; a really pleasant surprise, didn't expect something this good from Home Bargains.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A peaty brown coloured pour with a rim of beige head; aroma of chocolate malt and a little spice; milky mouthfeel with a fruity chocolate taste to start; then some nutmeg and orange, followed by vanilla essence. Better than expected.

Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown to black, a thin beige head. Nose - light figs, burnt raisin, ginger cake and brown bread. Taste - spicy ginger cake, almost Jamaica cake. Dried fruit and a little burnt. Palate - medium bodied, roasty and spicy middle and finish. Overall - good, actually.

Can picked up at Home Bargains, Inverurie. It pours darkest brown with a small bubbly beige head. The is earthy roast, warming spice, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, cola cubes, umami, liquorice, vanilla and custard creams. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, heavy spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove rock, cola cubes, Dr Pepper, light vanilla, earthy roast, burnt toast, umami and some dried fruits. Finish is spicy and toasty. Lightish body and average carbonation. Actually it's ok. More drinkable than it sounds.

Can at home. Black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma and taste are more vanilla custard than Christmas pudding. Hints of light spice. Slightly thin body.
