This beer is a lighter version of our Oude Kriek de Schaerbeek Tilquin à l'ancienne. Same recipe with 270gr of Schaerbeek cherries by liter of lambic, but lighter in alcohol, due to the use of a blend of 50% of Meerts and 50% of 1 and 2 years old lambics. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, this beer is refermented in the keg.

Tip Tap draught, 5/29/25.
Clear cherry. Small ring of bubbles.
Well that's pretty lovely. Even initially while too cold it still has excellent aroma strength. Meaty, rich, pepper-tinged cherry juice and flesh. Soft funk, mineral, basement character with mild Brett and lacto, no acetic.
Juicy, soft, with rich cherry adding a lusciously tart, meaty and peppery character. Bit of wax from the fruit. Mild Brett, very little lacto. I daresay we could use a bit more lambic character here, but the fruit is top notch.

On tap at 't Brugs Beertje Brugge. Hazy deep red colour lasting pink head. Aroma is outstanding. Flavour is also amazing. Not very spur. The fruit is so forward. So good its like drinking sour cherry juice. Amazing. Wow one of best beers I've had. Upped the score after a 2nd pour.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas - Olambic Games, pours a cloudy dark red with a huge pink head. Aroma has musty, earthy cherry skins, a touch of funk, and deep cherry pith. Flavour is full of pithy cherry pith, musty funk, light-to-moderate acidity, and some earthiness. Lightly pith, acidic finish. Very good.

(Draught at Dynamo Bar de Soif , Brussels, 19 Oct 2024) Dark red colour with brief, pink head. Fruity, funky nose with cherries, red fruit, almonds and barnyard. Fruity, tart taste with notes of cherries, red-currant, almonds, lemon and a dry finish with a clean acidity. No bitterness. Medium body, dry. Rich and well made kriek. Very nice.

Keg in Caps & Taps, Tufnell Park, London before the Crawlers gig at The Dome. Clear red with an off-white head. Cherry stones, black morello cherries, farmyard funk, a little wood. A bit of dark chocolate cake gives definite black forest gateaux vibes. Mildly tart, dry finish. Yummy!
