OK, so it’s rich, complex, and we think a rather fine brew, but it’s Christmas cheer you’ll be drinking here. So give us a “Hey!”. Give us a “Ho! Hey! Ho!”, Santa’s here! Say it loud and clear…”Bartender, if you please, give me a Ho, Ho, Ho!”

Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is malty and slightly hoppy with caramel, toffee, toasted malt, ripe fruity and resinous notes. Flavour is mild sweet with a medium bitterness. Body is medium. Probably not the freshest sample (best before date is hard to make out) but this seems to age gracefully.

Very good to style! Even thought that's not my favorite.. Thick and malty sweet, with a hardcore hoppy bitterness to it. Resiny and rich.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.2%, 60 IBU. Cloudy brown colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of piney hops, also notes of molasses and alcohol. The flavour is moderately sweet, malty first with some caramel, immediately followed by a distinct and fairly sharp hoppy bitterness. Rich mouthfeel. Should be able to handle even the most robust Norwegian Christmas fare, like smoked "pinnekjøtt" (I prefer the unsmoked pinnekjøtt though). Might buy this one again next Christmas.
