Can at home. Murky brownish color, full sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, some caramel, a nice blend between sweet. Don't get much more but it's alright.

Bruin troebel bier met schuim wat niet all te lang bljft staan. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van karamel, wat gedroogd fruit en toffee. Standaard goed bier, niet uitzonderlijk maar zeker niet slecht.

Can from Dok.
A: hazy brown, small, foamy, tan head.
A: toffee, caramel, pear, red apple, fig, cookies, almond.
T: sweet fig, pear, toffee, bit herbal bitter and nutty.
F: herbal, bit peppery hops, dried fruits, warming liqueur-like alcohol.
P: medium body, thin syrupy texture, average carbonation.
An ideal, drinkable example of the style; just the type of beer that I wanted Dok to made and which I knew they'd do well. A keeper for their range, I'd say.

3/I/25 - 33cl can from DOK Brewing (Gent), shared @ home with Bouvier, BB: 15/IX/29, lot: DOK229 (2025-7)
A little cloudy amber to red brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, lots of ripe to overripe banana, a hint of chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, caramel, soft roast, sweet touch, a little bitter. Aftertaste: more roast, chocolate, malty, grains, a little hoppy, nice one!

Scotch or ‘wee heavy’ by Dok Brewing Company, from tap at Welkom. Moussey, medium thick, membrane-like lacing, pale yellowish beige, stable head on a hazy caramel brown robe with deep, dark mahogany core. Aroma of dry caramel, sugared tea, cashew nuts, hint nougat, raisin bread, dried dates, brown bread dough, notes of coffee, brandy, peach and rainwater. Sweet onset in a rounded, clean way, some medlar- and pear-like fruitiness, slight banana, with a very faint sourish edge; softish carb, smooth caramelly malt core with side effects of butterscotch, nut bread dough and toast – moving from sweet to roasty-bitter without going all ‘burnt’ or black coffee-like, as befits the intended style. Vague peachy esters and clove-like phenols do appear but the emphasis remains on the malts, highlighted by a brandy-like alcohol glow. Perhaps just a tad too yeasty for a Scotch, but balanced and tasty, ticking all the boxes of this somewhat neglected style, which was once hugely popular here. A welcoming, properly executed, true-to-style autumn beer from Dok, no complaints here.
