What’s on the other side, when we die? It’s a debate that can cause heated discussions, fueled by people who claim to have been to that other side – and come back. However, tobacconist Guifré Galbó from Girona in Catalonia gained worldwide fame in occult circles a few years back when he took things quite a few steps further. Guifré claimed to have been to hell, from which he returned. According to him, the story goes that Girona was hit by a tremor, while Guifré was at work in his tobacco store. A huge box of Cuban cigars had apparently fallen from a high shelf and made an impact on the unfortunate tobacconist’s skull. Gaining consciousness Guifré found himself engulfed in the most horrible sea of flames, and he had no doubt that he had ended up in the fires of hell. Being a devout Catholic with only a few missteps in his life – Mercé was her name – he felt that he had been treated very unfairly. And according to the story he since told, he demanded to see the person in charge, explained the profound unreasonableness of the situation and suddenly returned to consciousness, lying on the floor of his tobacco store surrounded by paramedics. Today Guifré Galbó runs his own congregation, named ‘Hellfire & Damnation’ because that’s exactly what he preaches. And he claims to know what he’s talking about – being the only person who has gone to hell and come back.

Tap at Hoppzak. Black with big tan head. Roasted malts, earthy, lime zest, dead leaves, chocolate. Medium sweet amd bitter. Medium bodied. Not bad!

Surprisingly mild Aroma faint licorice.
Flavor is very nice and balanced black ipa ish , good roasted malts, charred wood, good bitter hoppy balance, strong flavor, balanced

Årets første sykkeltur langs Gandsfjorden brakte meg på forunderlig vis til Melkebaren, hvor jeg måtte gå planken: brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Kaffe, kakao, mørke karameller og urter. Tørr avslutning med 70%-sjokolader.

44cl can, BB 05/2026, batch# 3213.
Brune foncée, col épais blanc-cassé tirant sur le moka.
Arôme sur un excellent bouquet malté aux saveurs de cara pâle, torréfié, chocolat, cacao, houblonné apportant de fins effluves de résine, herbacé et agrumes.
Palais est excellent avec ce rappel de Blakc IPA américaine côté ouest d'antant. Belle robe maltée avec des notes de chocolat et cacao rappelant un peu une pâte à tartiner. Houblonné en support sur ce côté résineux délicat avec une pointe épicée et herbacée et presque ce vieux combo C-hops, CTZ
Belle surprise - avec juste avant la Blakc IPA de Thiriez qui était plus sur une approche franco-belge, mais tout aussi bien brassée.

440ml. Opaque colour, beige head. Coffee and licorice in the toasted nose. Light to medium-bodied. Roasted, licorice, coffee, lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Hoppy and coffeish CDA.
