A classic bitter ale that, as Rob once said, is suitable for drinking at any time of the day. Not that we at all endorse a lunchtime beer, save it for special occasions, but you know what we mean - this beer is light and refreshing. At only 3.6% it's one of our lowest ABV beers in a bottle.
Starting with a simple malt bill of British grains we build on this with rather a lot of soft, delicate and low alpha hops from the UK, Poland and Germany for a layered and complex, yet still ever so refreshing, hoppy finish.
Like most of our beers the flavours build and build the further through the bottle(s) you get.
Malts: Maris Otter, Best Pale, Wheat
Hops: British, German, Polish

Bottle at home. It pours clear pale gold with a thick, fluffy white head. The nose is clean, toasted grain, dough and hay. The taste is crisp, straw, grain, light toast, some bitterness, spice/herbal notes and citrus peel. Finishes up dry. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Straightforward stuff, but not bad.

Cask at the Seven Stars, Rugby - 12/12/12. Pale clear golden with a decent sized off white head that retains well. Nose is pretty weak, pale malt, light fruit tones. Taste comprises pale malts, light citrus, touch of biscuit, fruit tones. Medium bodied with a light bitter finish. Dull !

Bottle: Golden, visible carbonation, lacy off-white creamy head; moderate to distinctive flowery to fruity (peaches) hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, but not watery at all, soft MF; mild and spicy hoppy-fruity finish. Really good...

"Swannay Brewery". Slightly hazy yellow color, small steady white head. Typical British sweetish fruity-flowery aroma. Light bodied. Fruity-flowery flavor, light bitterness in the finish. Reasonably ok body for 3.6% beer. Shorty aftertaste. Lingering fruity hoppyness. Despite of American hops, very British.

Half-pint, gravity fed at the 36th CAMRA Cotswold Beer Festival 21st July 2012. Golden, almost yellow body with a pure white head. Mini hop nose, with traces of malty molasses. The taste was floral hop, light flavoured and also too lightly malted for my sweet malty taste buds. Only 3.6%ABV I know, but still a bit thin for my liking; didnβt hold my interest so l;ooked for something else very quickly.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Hop-accented aroma with herbal spice, a subtle fruitiness and resiny, slightly woody notes. Moderately bitter flavour, light bodied but not watery; crisp and slightly sharp carbonation. Soft malt-character with a good dash of hoppy flavours leading into a dry and hop bitter finish. Another light but also tasty hoppy Ale from Scottland. 23.VI.12

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average to huge collapsing frothy white head. Fruity and slightly floral hop aroma on decent malt basis. Light body, slightly watery taste, decent malty, minimal hop note, slightly bitter hoppy finish.

Golden yellow, clear, frothy thick white head
Aroma - not getting much here, touch of light malt, vague hint of hops
Taste -soft sweet pale malts, bit of fruity malt, background of bitter hops
Palate - Very dry, light body. Finish - much more biscuity cereal malts come through, bitter linger, a bit too dry for me
