This Red Honey Doppelbock is here to bring the zing of Acid House to your taste buds — it’s sweet, it’s malty, and it’s got a groove that’s hard to ignore. Dry-hopped exclusively with German hops Callista and Mandarina Bavaria and whirlpooled with Raw Wildflower Honey, Acid Traxx pulses with notes of honeyed citrus, berry, and a kick of earthy resin. This isn’t your average Doppelbock. Imagine sipping a liquid vinyl record layered with fruity beats and buzzing warmth, like a dance floor anthem in a glass. It’s rich and it has a sweet finish that knows how to leave you wanting more. Just one warning: after a few sips, you might feel the urge to throw on some neon and break out your wildest moves. Proceed accordingly!

28 November 2024. At Hal 16 (Dok Brewing). Cheers to the Teamleader crew!

A: hazy brown, stable, foamy, tan head.
A: red grape, chestnut, rosehip, plum, red fruit jam.
T: sweetish plum & grape, jam, biscuit.
F: bitter herbal hops, orange peel, berry jam.
P: medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Oddly berry-like and lacks some punch for a Doppelbock (with honey).

Süffiger, leicht hopfiger Malzbeginn, röstig, deutliche Herbe, würzig. Nuancen von Honig, cremig, weiche Bitterkeit. Süffig, konstant hopfig, hat was von einem milden Black IPA. Mittellanger Abgang, gut. 9/9/11/9/10/9

Reddish with a foaming head. Aroma promises caramel with tropical fruit overtones. Taste is mildly bitter with a white wine tartness. Surprisingly delicate body for the style, smooth though with mild carbonation and just enough chewiness. Definitely not your traditional doppelbock, but it’s not bad.

Day 19 from Fin's Beyond Beer Geek Edition Advent calendar (I think that it was day 19, but drinking it in day 20) had this Friday 20th December 2024 had a Prawn Curry. I have to confess I found this a rather forgettable beer, okay the usual style markers were there but it certainly didn't stand out, however it did come on the back of an Aventinus and Frogichlaus. I guess as Doppelbocks go, it's fine.
