Sometimes you’ve just got to lean into your heritage when brewing a beer. After shaking off the post-festive cobwebs of January, February brings the first inklings that Spring time is in the post, but most importantly for any Welsh brewery, the hope and optimism of the Six Nations tournament. As a proud sporting nation, and only pipped to the post as the most successful team in tournament history by a single title by those folks next door, we wanted to brew a beer to unite sports fans and beer drinkers alike – the result is Am Byth, a hoppy Welsh red ale born of passion for our home country. Letting the malt lead the way, this beer bursts with biscuity sweetness, before a gentle addition of Amarillo and Simcoe brings the bitterness. All together now – Cymru Am Byth. Good luck boys, bring it home.

440ml can from Stan's Superstore. Pours a deep clear mahagany with a proud off-white head. Aroma of mild fruitcake, malt. Taste presents a nicely balanced sticky biscuity sweetness, some gentle berry moments, amber malt. Really nice drinkability, not too shouty whilst retaining an appealing sweetness. Should be a core range cask beer this.
