Fruity pale ale bursting with UK Jester hop that befits a highly esteemed Roman comedy playwright…punchy!
We first encountered the new UK Jester hop in a pale ale at the Charles Faram Hop Harvest Open Day in 2015. Its’ gorgeous fruity grapefruit flavour and aroma blew us away and we couldn’t wait to get our brewing mitts on it.
Suggested food pairing: shellfish, sweet and savoury salads, light meats and tarts.

500ml bottle from Gloucester Services Farm Shop. Cracked as the first beer of hols in Cornwall. Misty gold complexion with white head. Seems to nestle within trad pale territory, some zippy citrus and mild hop fruit moments, but seems masked by an overly strong bitterness, finishing dry.

Bottle from Gloucester Services. Pours dark gold to amber with a cream cap. Aroma: citrus, earthy hops. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, marmalade, zesty citrus, spicy hop. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Decent Jester hopped pale.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Gloucester Beer Festival, 22/4/2016. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of tangerine fruit and citrus hops. Flavour had sweetish marmalade notes, biscuity malts, leading to a decent, bitter, finish. Good.
