Neuzeller Kloster-Bräu Stout Beer - Imperial Porter, Flasche von REWE, Bestensee. - Tiefdunkel, fast schwarz. (19.1.2023.)

Almost black with a creamy, beige head. Underwhelming aroma for a beer of this class—slight hints of charred toast with a chocolate undertone. Taste is pleasantly roasted, bitter the whole way through. Crisp finish with a lingering hint of licorice. Medium—bodied, mild carbonation, the alcohol is well hidden. Decent for the style.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a lacing, beige head. Sweet roast, cocoa aroma. Surprisingly only a medium body, mildly sweet roast with a licorice touch and hardly any bitterness. Very hard to believe this is actually 8.1% - but very pleasant drinking. 101221

Old Bottle, bb 15.1.19, danke Max! Pours a bit thin red black, tan cream. Roast, chocolate, gracefully aged berry notes. medium body, creamy. Milk chocolate, coffee berries, raspberry, good balance, even the oxidized notes fit. Nice and creamy drink.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, muckefuck, berries, a bit grainy, a touch cardboard too (but it's an old bottle). Taste is chocolate, dark grains, nice earthiness, actually well-balanced. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation.

Bottle at tasting. Dark brown to black color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor both have malts, malt bitter. Hmm I can't really taste it properly as I've been eating sweetish chocolaty things. It's ok.

Bottle recieved with Euro Swap 3 2019, many thanks to Rauchbierlover! Bottle shared with Inoven, Benzai and Keukeman. The beer is clear dark brown with a little head. It has an aroma of malt and caramel. The taste is malty, rye and a bit sweet.

17/12/2019. Bottle courtesy of Gabriel. Pours thin, mid to dark brown, with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of malt, nut, chocolate, toffee, touch of coffee, liquorice, bread and molasses. Medium to heavy sweetness, minimal bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet, slightly toasted finish. Not really what I was expecting from an 8.1% imperial porter.
