17.07.2018, 0,375l bottle @ summer house in Blåvand:
Small bubbly mediumlasting head, hazy dark orangy color. Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish oaky, mild vinegar, oak, minerals, grass, bark, sorrel, sour apples, dried fruits, hay, caramel malts, hints of thinner. Taste is sweet sour-ish fruity, dried fruits, mild vinegar, soda powder, sorrel, fruit stones, oak, caramel malts, minerals, grass, sour berries. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. A very strange, yet interesting creation. Nice one.

Hazy amber beer, a few short lived cream colour bubbles. Palate is smooth, pretty low carbonation. The malts bring some caramel sweetness that struggles and fails to get a grip on a lot of acetic acid. Fair bit of apple calvados. Fruity finish. It’s too acetic to be very drinkable. Half a bottle was more than enough.

Bottle from BFM. Pours murky amber. Aroma is strong barrel, funk, calvados, little acetone, and barley wine maltyness lurking in the background. Body is medium, smooth, and notes of acetone, calvados, barrel, late spicy ginger. Some fruity sweetness, but rather in the background. Palate continues all that and carries the barrel a long time. Sweet and even slightly warming. Good, even if a highly unusual take on a barley wine.

375 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini Birre Ribelli 2016. Dark orange with no head. Nose is very sour, vinegar, sour, wood, more vinegar, dash nail polish, brutal. Taste is hugely acidic, very sour, vinegar, huge oak, fruit, oak, vinegar fruit, getting zero ginger, overall this is just highly delicious woody vinegar basically. Slick, thinner body, vinegar,… Calling this a Barley Wine feels almost like a joke, not only is this is sourer than any version of Saint Bon-Chien that I have ever had, this is one of the sourest beers I have ever had, this physically hurt to drink, it really burned in your throat, good but sadomasochistic to drink, not sure if even I could manage a bottle of this.

Bottle sample @ Vine Birre Ribelli ’16.

26/XI/16 - 37.5cl bottle @ Vini Birre Ribelli (Brussels) - BB: n/a (2016-1397) Thanks to sebletitje and 77ships for sharing today's beers!

Clear orange beer, no head. Aroma: acidic, very dirty, some urine, bah. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very spicy start, weird, funky, quite some tannins, bit sweet, spicy. Aftertaste: some ginger indeed, sourish, sugary touch, meh. Not my thing!
