Bottle split at the optimal climatic conditions tasting, Hazlemere, thanks to a team purchase 11/08/21. Black with a good sized tan head that escapes to a swirl. Nose is decadent chocolate, dark malts, coconut, spice, mellow bourbon, coffee bean. Taste comprises chocolate, rocky roads, coffee grinds, mellow roast, dark malts, cacao nibs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced warming boost. Class in a glass ... great balance and a fine kiss of bourbonics.

Tasting at Chez Cloin. Thanks to the team. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slight viscosity. Decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, smooth dark chocolate. Touches of vanilla and coconut. Mellow smooth coffee. Soft cinnamon. Some mild alcohol spice on the smooth finish. Smooth and luxuriant and rich. Bloody marvellous.

(650ml bottle from the Mikkeller and Friends bottleshop, Copenhagen) Aroma is intense bourbon-laden molasses, dark caramel and fudgy chocolate, clear vanilla, some presence of earthy savoury coffee and cinnamon, slight 'green' edge to the coffee, a little burnt grain. Flavour is fairly sweet up front with molasses and dark toffee, fudgy cocoa, lots of bourbon presence, vanilla, coffee has faded a bit but the earthy and slightly 'green' presence of BA coffee beans is clear, cinnamon is very present but not really in the 'hot' way, more just earthy. Finish is off-dry with cacao and bourbon vanilla over burnt sugars, soft roast, subtle earthy coffee and lots of savoury cinnamon. Dry woody cinnamon vibes to the aftertaste. Medium bodied, oily, very softly carbonated. This was definitely a far-from-fresh bottle so naturally the barrel is more prominent than the adjuncts, but while being on the sweet side it was qutie rich and full.
