On tap at Blind Tiger, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is dry, with bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour has lightly sweet caramel malt, bready malt, and light nuttiness. Lots of bready and caramel malt. Could be drier but its well-made. Very good.

Brewery draught, 11/18/22. Clear, dark amber-to-tan with a small, dark beige head showing moderate retention. Nice and malty with light melanoidin-like acidity and low toast. Hints of vanilla, raisin and cherry with low hop and no alcohol or flaw. Soft and malty, good attenuation with plentiful buttercream, light chocolate and caramel. Balancing acidity though still tending quite malty but without any chewiness or syrupiness. Still, the flavors are concentrated and rich even if the texture is on the lighter side of medium. Clean and well-presented/balanced.

Can (10/14/21) pour from Beer and Wine Nation, Merrimack. It's a cloudy dark amber with nice sparkle, finger-width fizzy beige head quickly fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is brown bread, earth with a bit of cardboard, leather, late hint of chocolate. Taste is strong caramel, brown bread, earth, pilsner malts. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, good complexity and strength.

Half liter at the brewery pours a murky amber with a film of off white head. Nose has malt and some sausage and yeast, pumpernickel. Flavor is pumpernickel and some pastrami, some caramel, grains, some marzipan. Finishes medium bodied, dry, creamy. Well done. To style.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Sweet dark malt, caramel and earthy hop aromas. Sharp with sweet dark caramel, toasted brown bread and mild dark pit fruit upfront turning to dry earth in the medium length finish.
