Our first Export Stout, ‘Albino Pheasant’ 7.7% - a decadent body & luxurious texture swirl flavours of toffee and burnt sugar between robust roasted notes of chocolate, coffee and charred toast. It’s our take on an export stout!

440ml can from lowcostbeer.com, consumed 1 month past BBE. Pours black, fairly thick pour, small tanned head. Aroma is toasty, coffee, dark chocolate, treacle, hint of blackberry. Lovely smooth mouth feel with soft carbonation. Taste is toasty, dark chocolate, liquorice and a light berry tanginess in the finish. Lovely.

440ml can as part of a delivery from Hoptimism and drunk at home. Black with a big quickly dissipating tan head. Dark chocolate, graham cracker, yeast extract, some coal on the nose. Sweet with notes of of black liquorice, stone fruit and salted caramel. Some more sweet/savoury interplay in the finish. Thick body, light carbonation. I love a nice export stout, and this is pretty fantastic.

Can at home, 5th June 2021. Pours black. Aroma is chocolate and some roasted malts. Taste is cocoa and chocolate, milk chocolate, it’s fairly sweet, more cocoa and a milky sweet finish, with some roasted malts. Overall it’s too sweet, but not a bad stout
