Our first Export Stout, ‘Albino Pheasant’ 7.7% - a decadent body & luxurious texture swirl flavours of toffee and burnt sugar between robust roasted notes of chocolate, coffee and charred toast. It’s our take on an export stout!

30/5/2021. Can shared with Dan and ITFCfan, from Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours clear dark mahogany brown with a ruby tint and a frothy tan coloured head. Aroma is rich, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, black treacle, touch of liquorice. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Full bodied, smooth texture, average to soft carbonation. Full on brew, heavy going but good stuff.

Can. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, light roast aromas, nutty, nice dark malt complexity. Medium body. Flavour is very smooth, lovely dark malt complexity with lots of chocolate malt. Chocolate, coffee, cacao, creamy and smooth chocolate milk. A very smooth export stout which showcases a nice malt complexity. Well done and a good reminder that simplicity can be delicious.

440ml can. Sweetish, slightly roasty and creamy with hints of coffee, vanilla, liquorice, cocoa and earthiness. A bit sweet and almost milky creamy finish. Could've used a bit more roastiness and bitterness.

Can on the Bootle Brush, 08/12/19. Pitch black with a decent tan head. Nose is bitter roast, chocolate, leather, light spice, dried fruit esters. Taste comprises roast malts - softer than the nose suggested, chocolate biscuit, charr, toffee, raisins, nutty. Medium bodied with bite, smooth feel, light dryness in the close. Decent stout ... drinking well with a bit of age on it.
