11th January 2024 Craft Beer Junction bottleshare, thanks to Wingman. Clear dark reddish amber brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth airy palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft malts, a light creamy sweetness. Decent caramel and chocolate. Smooth bourbon soaked fruits. A little spice on the soft finish. One of those Barleywines that flirts with being an Impy, but very nice nonetheless.

Medium brown, thin head. Great aroma, getting into the nicely oxidized thing, and toffee, all kinds of bourbon. Sweet, figgy, slightly sticky, toffee, the bourbon comes in and adds a touch of dryness, giving this a moreish finish. Great complexity.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney, pours a very deep dark brown / near-black with a medium beige head. Aroma is complex and elegant, with big bourbon barrels, toffee, English caramel malt, and brown sugar. Flavour is very sweet, with lots of brown sugar, huge bourbon barrels, caramel malt, and dark sugars. Wonderful bourbon barrel presence. Elegant, complex, and refined. Lovely.
