Deadication brew to Pope Gregory XI, the pope that moved the papacy back to Rome from Avignon, who must have been strong-willed to defy the French protests at the time, died on this day. This is strong too but fruits are just as evident, however it's its tasty sugars that are best in flavour here.

Hazy orange colour, moderate sized ecru-ish white head; aroma of pine resiny/pine needles, grapefruity, orange, biscuity and moderate tropical fruity notes; taste is dominated by hoppy-resiny bitterness with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma and some spicy aftertaste; great one

GBBF Day 2. Cask. A light haze on this amber beer, good bubbly cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, fairly sweet and with a sizable dose of caramel. Smooth piney hops, quite resinous. Fair bit of hop spice. Ripe orange peel. More spice and resin on the semi dry finish. Olde Skool DIPA.
