Our take on a classic style. We've used an unlikely combination of New Zealand hops combined with Saison yeast and Belgian Pale yeast.

(Draught at Kernel Taproom Arch 7, Bermondsey, London, 11 May 2024) Hazy golden yellow colour with big, frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of peaches, grass, white bread and citrus. Fruity, malty taste with peaches, citrus, grass, white bread and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Clean, fresh and tasty. Very nice.

On tap. Pours a cloudy gold with moderate head. Aromas of dull lemon, a bit of white pepper and wheaty malts, Flavors follow same with bitter lemon. Clean but a bit boring.

Pretty much a clear pale gold beer, small white head. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light fluffy pale malts, a light creamy sweetness. A pleasantly modest funk in the mid. Modest hops on the back end. Not really strong enough to readily identify as NZ Cascade but fine. Light finish. A simple beer that is fine but I got somewhat bored with this by half the bottle.

Keg at the tap. Aroma is sweet and sour... lemon drops with icing sugar. Opaque light gold. Thick foamy translucent white head. Sour vinous streak over malty yeasty core. Light. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. A crisp Belgian Pale. The hops are.certainly not resulting in a trad beer. More like a Saison.

Bottle at home picked up from the kernel tap room bermondsey. A light hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is nice rustic straw, earthy grains, lime, quince, nice floral notes, loose wheat. Flavour is composed of chalky rustic grains, straw. Lemongrass, grassy hop, twist of lime. Assertive hop bitterness, palate is lively slightly abrasive. Prickly carbonation. Nice.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a mostly clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice combo of tangy white wine-like hops, saison yeast, and a touch of doughy Belgian yeast. Flavour is bright, with spicy saison yeast, doughy Belgian notes, and some tangy hops to accentuate. Really nicely made. Not exactly authentic but nicely put together, with good command of the yeast.
