almost clear mahogany-ruby colour, huge, creamy beige-ish head, which lasts for ages; aroma of prune, dried cherry, unripe apple, herbal liqueur notes, some leather, slight cocoa and licorice, as well as alcoholic notes; taste of dried fruits, licorice, herbal liqueur, cocoa powder, roasted bittery notes and syrupy malty sweetness, as well as alcoholic spiciness in the aftertaste; great one!

Bottle picked up from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham. consumed at Fire in the Mountain Festival, nr Aberystwyth, Wales, Saturday 2nd June 2018 Difficult to be exacting on colour owing to green plastic glass that is festooned with a Northern Rock Patrons Project label. I am guessing that it is a deep reddy brown colour. Toffee (burnt toffee on the nose and in the mouth, a little marmalade, it's coming across as a little bit harsh for me a bit of heat from the alcohol and lacks finesse, however that isn't to say that I don't like it, it's just not totally a my thing, I guess a couple of years on this might soften it a bit.
