Vienna Lager is a classic style that's almost 180 years old. It's characterised by a complex, elegant malt profile that delivers light toasted and biscuity flavours, with a dry finish and lingering bitterness. To compliment the rich malt backbone, we used a hop known for bright orange flavours.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Clear, mid amber colour. Fairly thick, lasting, white foam. Looks well. Nose has ginger biscuit. Marmalade hop. Sweet, toasty grain. Taste is nutty and sweet, with a pretty punchy, ripe citrus bitterness. Medium body. Lightly oily mouthfeel. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish.

Can at home picked up from the brewery tap Bermondsey. A mostly clear deep amber red coloured pour with a lasting rocky off white head. Aroma is semi sweet nutty amber malts, light silage, grassy leafy hop, golden grahams, Fresh on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, browned sugars, sweet cinnamon toast, bitter leafy hop, grassy finish. Hop bitterness is a bit too assertive. Low jammy apricot in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Cloudwater Bermondsey. Note bad, had some grassy bitterness, toasted grains. Light bodied with average carbonation. Bitter finish, light warmth, more husky toasted grains, grass, orange peel. Drinks alright.

Taste comprises airy malts, biscuit crumbs, toffee, straw, brown sugar lump, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with dusty hop bitterness. Decent for the style.
