Full pint, cask ale at Baum. Cloudy straw-golden body, spotty lacing from a small sized head. Moderate aromas of oily hops. Orange fruity flavours, some grassy hops followed by a fair mid-dry bitter ending. Easy to drink and nice with the food. (Leif's birthday party, Rochdale 04.05.2018).

Cask @ Cask, Manchester. Blonde with a thick creamy head. Hoppy but bland in this respect. Its smooth texture is very pleasant though, and there’s a hint of berry-fruit in its nose.

(Cask at Crown, Stockport, 24 July 2009) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, hints of grass and toffee. Hops actually leaning slightly in the Saaz direction (managed to find out it’s actually Bramling Cross and Pacific Gem). Fruity, malty taste with citrus, grass, pineapple, toffee and a generous citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice and tasty.

Cask at The Wellington, aka ’The Cask and Cutler’ Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 I overheard the barman saying that this was due to go on so waited an extra few minutes to get a taste of my first Pictish of the day. This looked in great nick and as Mes would say poured with the ’usual Pictish snowstorm’ Light gold in colour with a white bubbly head. Bitterness was a little stinging and pithy but less depth of flavour than I expected, a very good beer that just for once met its match and was outpunched by the (in this pub at least) by the excellent Millstone Baby Git, still a 3.7 is a damn decent score.
