This Imperial Oatmeal Stout was aged in bourbon barrels for over a year. Three unique varieties of malted and flaked oats create a silky roasted character to balance the palate.

One of my least favorite bourbon barrel aged oatmeal stouts, too much coffee, roast, and bitterness with almost no vanilla and bourbon I expected, tastes like an OK coffee stout.

16oz. can. Aroma has slight coffee, bold oats. The flavor has soft coffee with a nice smooth texture. Unfortunately, it also is thin. Another odd aspect is I don’t really find much bourbon. Very pricy to NOT have any bourbon.

Can drunk 5/27/23, thanks AFHops. Cloudy dark brown. No head. Smells like beans and tannin. Not much discernible, certainly not interesting or enjoyable bourbon. Thin, watery, no malt depth. Too much oat, not enough barley. Thin, poor bourbon character, just alcohol and oat with bare cocoa.

Can from Tavour. Pours very dark brown with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma of bourbon and smooth roasty/toasty malt. Full bodied. Flavor is the aroma plus a heavy dose of chocolate. Incredibly silky/smooth. Very malty, but has the illusion of dryness. Not all that bitter. Heat must be sought after. Excellent.
