25th January 2020 Can. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Thin and mildly dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Cereal streaked dark malts with a weird tea like twist. Thin dry finish. WTAF? Jaysus! Shocking!

Can split on the Looe Brush, thanks to the Wingman, 03/02/19. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is roast malts, liquorice, red berries, chocolate. Taste comprises cocoa powder, blackcurrant, mellow roast, toffee, brown sugar, dried red berries. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a coating of warming alcohol. Ok impy but overly sweet for my liking.

Cask ale at Blue Boar in Leicester, shared Finn. Bubbly surface, dotted spots on the glass, black in the glass. Black malty aromas wit a liquorice touch, promising. Taste of chocolate, liquorice and a sherry note on a backbone of molasses. Mid-sweet malty ending, slightly roasted and with warmth from the alcohol. Well bodied. Decent sipper. (10.02.2019)

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Purplish dark brown, bordering on black, almost opaque with a small, loose, uneven tan head. Aroma suprisingly slight with notes of charcoal, burnt malt, coffee. Taste is incredible with chocolate covered cherries, tar liquorice, tobacco and molasses notes. Sweet stone fruit notes in the long finish. There's little attempt to hide the ABV yet it doesn't feel overly boozy. Delicious and intense, well woeth seeking out if you can find it.

Can. Turner’s, Sheffield. Pours a thin looking, clear, cola brown. Looks a little muddy in the glass. Fine tan head, with some viscosity. Nose has cherry and raspberry cereal bar. A little oaty and milky. Light roast malt. Any oak aging is lost on me. Taste is fruity and sweet, with a roast malt, coffee bitterness. Medium body. Doesn’t feel the ABV. Fine carbonation. A tad drying. Robust malt bitterness to finish.
