Our third collaboration with the Manchester Hop Project this autumn (and fourth Green Hop beer of the harvest season) marries roasty, toasty maltiness with the multidimensionality of locally grown, fresh hops. A blend of varieties brings warming noble spice, sweet dandelion and a touch of lavender, sitting on a robust malt base that hints at kola nut and freshly brewed coffee.

Rocky off white head left a loose top on a dark brown coloured body.
Malt, pine & roasted aroma.
Medium bodied, well carbonated with a cloying back.
Malt, chocolate, roasted, pine & resinous tastes with a bitter finish.
I expect it's very difficult to replicate Mild in can - but tasty for it is.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Clear deep amber brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Light palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, a pleasant chocolate streak. Modest ripe fruits, very modest. Some pine before a light finish. A pleasant mild, would be great in a log fire pub on a Sunday afternoon with a nice roast and good company. On a Wednesday evening, quite hard to get excited about.

440ml can. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, slightly nutty, a little treacle and a touch of spicy/herbal notes, moderately bitter. Medium bodied. Excellent example of the style, though not exactly a great showcase for fresh hops with it being so malt forward.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern - Hackney. Pours clear black-brown with a super dense, creamy latte cap. Light sweet flavour with subtle roast, earth, cocoa, faint coffee. Light bodied with delicate carbonation toon and smooth texture. Balanced finish, well rounded, highly drinkable.
