When the old 200 ton freighter sails into port and strikes the sails, it always has something good in the hold: this time it´s beer. A light and supple Belgian ale, its edges polished by the waves like a pebble by the beach. The taste swings between citrus fruits, cloves and candy. Cast off the front and aft, the midship has sailed! Top-fermented.

Bottle, thanks Jan & co. for sharing! Golden-yellow body, whtie head. Soft aroma, solid maltiness, dried fruit notes, vaguely stale, not bad though. Soft yeasty taste, malty, caramelly, light phenolic notes, pretty full. Okay overall.

Large bottle. Hazy yellow, small smooth white head. Belgian yeast quite prominent in the aroma, also fainter flowers and sweet yellow fruits.. aroma is quite a lot like a traditional belgian blonde. flavor is belgian yeast, flowers, fainter yellow fruit cocktail, lightly spiced. Good balance, a pretty well tasting, (in belgian terms) mild belgian blonde. Not really sure what this beer has to do with traditional danish christmas brews, but svaneke got two out of two things right, beer tastes great, and it would certanly fit well with all the things you might do during the christmas holidays. I think it would go particularily well with cheese, but it should do well with most food. One of the best christmas beers i've tasted this year so far.
