This beer marks a significant step in our journey.
Made using our coolship and aged for two years in a single red wine barrel, this Manchester spontaneous beer captures the character of our home city like no other beer we've brewed.
You Are All You Ever Needed To Be (And The World Is A Better Place With You In It) delivers characteristics you'd expect from a spontaneous beer, combining funk, rich fruitiness and a balsamic character with deep, satisfying acidity.
But it also stands out as reflective of its urban environment, possessing an intensity of flavour that speaks of Manchester's own vibrant energy and supreme self-confidence.
This is the first time we have presented a beer fermented solely using the microflora and bacteria present in the air around our brewery. Although we have used some of this spontaneous beer for blending into earlier releases, this is the purest representation of its character and we wanted to give it the chance to stand on its own.
We packaged it into a very limited number of magnums and conditioned it in bottle for 16 months.
It's a real statement beer and a sign of big things to come from our barrel project over the coming years.

Big daft bottle. Tiny little glass. It ain’t a fruited sour. Duly edited. A little saline. A little vinous. Bit wheaty and sweet. Not shy on the acidity. CWs first pop at lambic (I think) and it’s a pretty decent stab tbf.

7/12/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with minimal bubbly head. Aroma is woody, funky, grape, citrus, prune, red wine. Medium sweetness, super acidic tartness. Medium body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Great!

Bottle from Wingman at Hazlemere tasting. Fruity tart aroma. Cloudy fark amber. Creamy white head thins out. Fruity. Vinous. Tart. Light-medium bodied. Creamy. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Big characterful stuff.

Magnum shared by Wingmane at SHIG Crashes the Bottle Share at Hazlemere: Poured a coppery orange with a white head. Aroma is funky as fuck, fruity, barnyard, citrus. Taste is fruity, citrus, lemon, acidic, malty, tart as fuck.

MAG - NUMB, split at the Hazlemere Movember and chops tasting, thanks to Dave 12/11/21. Murky orange amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is grape must, funk, damp wood, grass, gooseberries, straw, lemon rind. Taste comprises tangy green berries, sharp citric zest, light acidic throat scrape, funk, damp hay. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a good acidic bite. Solid stuff.

Mag shared in Hazlemere - big thanks to David. Pours unclear amber-gold with a small, frothy white head. Light sweet flavour, a little funk, ripe tangerine, decent acidity, lemon. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Quenching finish, some pale wood, citrus peel, a little funk, grass. Very nice.

Bottle shared at high Wycombe tasting. Thanks to Wingman for this one. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a a halo of white head. Aroma is big pithy, smoked lemon, horsey funk, loose wheat, pepper. Flavour is composed of spicy citrus, lemon rind, pithy, musty funk, spicy, lemon. Palate is semi sweet, pithy. Spicy,. Light smoke.
