Canned 11/13/24, drunk 2/15/25.
Clear, dark, some deep brown tones. Medium-sized, light-tan head, moderate retention.
Cocoa, light roast, good mineral and easygoing overall due to the soft, creamy, nutty oat addition. Fairly aromatic, clean, though not tons of base malt breaking through.
Lighter-bodied, with mild roast and good bitterness. I wouldn't hate a little more oomph in the body, but it's still flavorful, clean and stout-like with a light, soft, chewy texture and very minor chocolate notes.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, light mineral notes, pleasant. Can at mondiale 2023.

16 oz. can from Bier Cellar, Portland, Maine. Pours a pitch black color with a small light tan head and poor retention. Where's the nitro? Zero lacing. Very light aroma of roasted chocolate. Good charred malt flavor, but with a lackluster finish. Light body and a thin mouthfeel. Almost no carbonation. Very low bitterness. Nitro would have helped a lot. Shame.

Nitro at the brewery, pours a watery brown with some head that faded very fast. Nose is malty, some smoke, some toasted oats, earthy. Flavor has caramel, marzipan, toasted almonds. Finishes watery. Nitro treatment failed to come through.

An at home. Dark pour and large head. Nose is light chocolate. Taste of earthy dark chocolate, creamy nitro, ash. Thin bodied. Easy drinking.
